Biography

Dr. B. Vishnu Bhat completed his undergraduate MBBS and postgraduate MD courses at JIPMER, an institute of national importance. He worked in various capacities and retired as Director-JIPMER in 2018. He works at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College as an adviser- in medical research. He has received several awards and delivered many orations. He has been a speaker at many National and international conferences. He has published over 400 scientific papers and 65 book chapters and edited three books with an h-index of 38.  He has been the recipient of the WHO fellowship twice. He was instrumental in starting DM and PhD programs in Neonatology at JIPMER. He has been a faculty member of the National Teachers Training Center at JIPMER for nearly three decades. His fields of interest include Perinatal asphyxia, Neonatal sepsis, Care of low birth weight infants, and Medical education.
