Biography

Sofia K. Chaniotaki, MD, PhD, Medical Biopathologist, Director of the Hematology Laboratory at the Peripheral General Hospital of Athens, “Giorgos Gennimatas," Greece. Medical degree: 1996, Medical School, University of Patras, Greece. Qualification as a specialist in medical biopathology: 2003, Athens, Greek Health Authorities. PhD degree in Microbiology: 2007, Medical School, University of Athens. The last 16 years: practice and experience on General Laboratory Hematology: blood coagulation and thrombophilia, molecular techniques in thrombophilia, regulations ELOT EN ISO 15189:2012, morphology of peripheral blood smear and bone marrow aspiration [including hematologic malignancies (leukemia, lymphoma, MPN, MDS), parasites of blood, TTP, DIC, thalassemia, etc].
