Moudy Bin Saleh, a PhD student at Newcastle University. My research focuses on understanding the impact of microsporidia on epithelial cells in the presence of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and how this interaction may contribute to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). I am particularly interested in host-microbe interactions, molecular microbiology, and gut health. My work involves molecular techniques such as PCR and eDNA analysis to detect and study microsporidia in IBD patients. Through my research, I aim to uncover new insights into the role of microsporidia in gut inflammation and disease progression.
