Biography

 G. Burgess Gbelee, Jr. is a dedicated young Liberian medical laboratory technologist and field epidemiologist. He holds a Diploma, Associate, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology. He also has Frontline, and Intermediate Field Epidemiology Certificates from the Liberia Field Epidemiology Training Program (LFETP), and a Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology and Disease Control and Advanced Field Epidemiology certificate from the University of Ghana. He collected and confirmed Liberia's first COVID-19 case. He is one of the Lead trainers for IDSR diseases in Liberia. Currently, he is the Genomic Sequencing unit Lead and Laboratory focal person for some VPD (Measles, Rubella, and Yellow) at the NPHRL, Liberia.
