Biography

My name is Abdurrahaman Mangari, a medical microbiologist and Infectious Diseases expert, boasts an illustrious academic background with training from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. Excelling as one of the finest students in Advanced Public Health, Epidemiology, Pathogenic Bacteriology, Pathology, and Desertions, my expertise spans critical areas including Pulmonary Tuberculosis, HIV, Diphtheria, Pneumonia,  Malaria, COVID-19, etc.

Recognized as a World Health Organization fellow on COVID-19 recovery for routine immunization Program, demonstrated exceptional leadership and coordination skills across five African countries: Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Sudan, and Nigeria. My role in spearheading efforts to ensure Routine Immunization amidst the pandemic reflects my unwavering commitment to Public Health on a regional scale.

My dedication to advancing health literacy in Nigeria and Globally is evident through my  participation in the Health Literacy Leadership Training at the West African Institute for Public Health. Through this initiative, I contribute to bridging gaps in healthcare accessibility and knowledge dissemination, thus empowering communities with vital health information.

My  influence extends beyond borders, as evidenced by my  active engagement in Global Health Forums such as the World Health Assembly and various Regional and Global summits. With oral presentations at over 14 conferences, both nationally and internationally, the  journey through the landscape of public health is nothing short of remarkable, marked by an unwavering dedication to advancing global health and combating infectious diseases. With a rich tapestry of experiences woven across prestigious institutions such as the Infectious Diseases Hospital Kano, the Federal Ministry of Health, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, my impact resonates far and wide, shaping the very fabric of public health interventions.

At the Federal Ministry of Health, I played a  pivotal role within the Department of Health Planning, Research, and Statistics, epitomizing a commitment to evidence-based interventions. My adeptness at analyzing health data with precision, identifying emerging trends, and informing strategic planning initiatives set a gold standard for proactive healthcare delivery. Through these efforts, the Minister's  capacity to respond to evolving health threats was not only fortified but also propelled towards excellence, thereby significantly contributing to the overarching goal of fortifying healthcare systems.

Transitioning to the Center for Environment and Public Health Research and Development provided a broader canvas upon which to paint your vision of holistic health. My endeavors transcended traditional boundaries, delving deep into the intricate interplay between environmental dynamics and public health outcomes. Through pioneering research and development endeavors, I  championed initiatives aimed at mitigating environmental hazards, fostering health equity, and nurturing sustainable development practices. The contributions laid the groundwork for transformative change, underscoring the indispensability of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing contemporary health challenges.

My  tenure at both the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention epitomized a regional and continental commitment to disease surveillance, preparedness, and response. Armed with a formidable arsenal of expertise in epidemiology, disease mapping, and outbreak investigation, I spearheaded initiatives that fortified epidemic control measures, elevated laboratory capacities, and fostered unprecedented levels of cross-border collaboration. Through my  leadership, the resilience of public health systems was fortified, and the collective response to infectious diseases elevated to new heights, setting a precedent for collaborative action in the face of adversity.

Currently, I'm the  Senior Supervisor for Oral Polio Vaccine at the World Health Organization Kano State, where I  stand as a beacon of hope in the fight against polio. By leading vaccination campaigns with unparalleled zeal and overseeing field operations with meticulous precision, I embody the very essence of frontline health advocacy. The efforts not only ensure equitable access to life-saving vaccines but also epitomize the unwavering commitment to eradicating polio and safeguarding the health of vulnerable populations around the world.
